A blog from the Mommy on the day after Mother's Day
I am so incredibly lucky to have my little Luke this Mother's Day. I think of all I went through with my pregnancy, starting in April when was diagnosed with a "threatned miscarriage", then at 12 weeks, threatned again, but my baby kept growing. At our 20 week sono, a bright spot on our baby boy's heart that put him at higher risk for Down's Syndrome, but at the high risk OB, we were assured everything looked ok. Then at 27 weeks, my ruptured appendix causing me to go into preterm labor and a 30% that Luke wouldn't make it through the surgery, but he did. Weeks of contractions and changes in my cervix, on meds and bedrest to keep him cooking, knowing for sure I was going to have a premie. However, with many prayers, my little boy made it to term and although he was small, he was perfect. I am so thankful for my miracle. I am also so thankful and humbled for my family especially our moms who were by my side every single night I was hospitalized. On this Mother's Day, I have a whole new perspective on the love of a mother, the love for my own son as well as the love from my own mom and mother-in-law. Happy Mother's Day!!
