Accident waiting to happen

I have really been stressing mommy and daddy out lately. It seems as though I have been dodging bullets left and right. Last week, mommy was getting groceries out of the car and I slipped past her, and the next thing she knew, I was going into the street (luckily, no cars were coming). Then, the other night, we were at a relay for life event. Mommy and daddy had let me run around with my friend, Ethan. When we were about to leave, the tent next to us, lit a charcoal fire on a ground grill. When I saw the big flame, I took off for it. Luckily mommy saw that glare in my eye and sprinted toward me. I was within a foot or so of reaching the flames when mommy scooped me up. And then yesterday, I usually go down the stairs on my bottom, but I was too excited and took off. I went down the stairs head over feet 2 times (no broken bones though). Mommy is really hoping I make it to 2 years old!

Day 21, yea!!

Finally after 21 days for twice day, my Augmentin is finished. I have a clean nose, so we will see how long it last. Hopefully it will not come back because I do not want to have to go back to the ENT. It is so nice not to have my nose rubbed every few minutes!

Hand-Foot-Mouth OH MY!

Well, it happened. On top of taking antibiotics for 3 weeks for my persistent runny nose, I got the Hand-foot-mouth virus. It started Wed. night. Mommy came home from work and I wouldn't eat dinner and was cranky. Mommy took my temp and it was 102 and I was breathing really fast. Mommy and daddy were pretty concerned because I was already on Augmentin. I had a really bad night and cried a lot. Mommy even slept in my room with me because I was so sad and daddy had a test the next morning. Through the night my temp got up to 103, so mommy took me to the pedi the next day. It was not my usual doctor. They checked me for RSV and it was negative. She said it was probably someting viral and would go away in a few days. I would hardly drink and would not eat anything. I had another bad night with a temp and on Friday, not only would I not eat, but I wouldn't open my mouth or even swallow so I was drooling all over the place. I broke out with a rash on my arms and legs and had such a difficult time swallowing the Motrin that mommy and daddy decided to take me to the children's ER because my pedi would not be open again until Monday. After waiting 3 hours, I was diagnosed with hand-foot-mouth. I had very painful blisters in my mouth and that is why I wouldn't swallow. Over the weekend, I was up a lot at night and ate very little. I walk around with my mouth sealed shut, but I am on the mend.

15 months and snotty!!

I am now 22 pounds 6 ounces and 31 1/2 inches tall. We went to my pedi because I have had a persistent runny nose for 3 weeks and it seems as though I have either been on antibiotics or had a runny nose since December. The pedi put me on Augmentin for 3 weeks and referred me to an ENT. I am really hoping nothing is wrong with my sinuses that will require intervention- we'll see. I am still a busy boy. I love outside. I love animals- especially dogs. I tell all animals "hi"; I didn't leave any animal out at the zoo. I have a regular 13 word vocab. I love to play patty cake, head and shoulders. I am trying hard to jump up, but I can't quite get my toes off the ground. I love to stack my blocks. I still like my Baby Einstein movies. I am wanting mommy to play with me more because I get bored by myself. I get scratches, bumps, and bruises everyday from crashing into something. I am crawling up on the furniture, and mommy is trying to keep me from standing on it. I have discovered how to put things on my head, so I try to balance everything including my dinner plate. I am a ham!

Hooked on Phonics Works for Me!

Mommy lets me pick out a book every night before I go to bed. I picked out the box of alphabet books that Ava gave me a long time ago. There is a little book with each letter and 3 things that start with that letter. Mommy read "A- a,a,a airplane, aligator, apples, A- a,a,a. Next book, "B- b,b,b banana, boats," Then I said "b,b- bye, bye" Mommy said "That is right Luke, bye, bye says b,b,b." Next book, "C- ca,ca,ca- cat, crayons," Then I said"ca,ca- Cracker" Mommy was so amazed that I came up with the words that started with the correct letter all by myself! I will be reading in no time! :)

I got a slide!!

My Christmas present arrived and the very next day, I helped Daddy put it together. The only slide I have really ever been on by myself is the bounce house slide, but that was enough to give me confidence for this slide. It is hard for me to get up the rock wall (although I have gotten better at it), so I climb up the slide to get back to the top. I love outside and I have really enjoyed having my new slide to play on!
