Christmas in Fort Worth

I had my 2nd Christmas in Fort Worth and we actually had a white Christmas. Unfortunately, I was not feeling well all week, so I did not get to spend much time in the snow. We had many Christmas gatherings and I received lots of presents. I had my 1 year pictures done (which mommy can't wait to get back), I got to ride a miniature train and carousel with Ava and Bradie, I set on Santa's lap, and I got my first haircut. Here is a slide show of my good time.

My first real sickness

On Tuesday, I had so much fun with Bradie and Ava. I went down for my nap and when I got up, Mommy gave me my cup of milk. I didn't want it, but mommy thought it was because I have gotten more bottles since we have been here for the holidays. I had a little spit up that smelled bad, but I wasn't cranky or anything. I ate dinner fine, but at the end, I threw up and continued to throw up 5 more time throughout the night. My temperature started creeping up to around 100. I actually slept through the night, and I got up and drank my milk. My temperature was 101, so mommy, daddy, and nonny took me to Dr. Pickell's office where my Aunt Dena works. I was really not feeling well and threw up my milk in the car on the way to the doctor. Dr. Pickell thought both my ears looked infected, but he didn't get a real good look because I was fighting so hard. He said it still could be something viral, but he prescribed me some Zofran for my nausea and some Amoxicillin for my ears. I also got a sucker on the way home which I really liked and that made me so happy That evening my temp spiked to 104.6. After Tylenol and a cool bath, it came down. Today I feel better and no temperature or vomiting, but I am not feeling quite up to par. Luckily, I think the worst is over. Here is a pic of me and my sucker.

My first haircut

Yesterday, I got my first haircut. I didn't have a lot of hair but I was growing a rat tail. I had quite the audience because we did it in Fort Worth. Mommy, daddy, nonny, grandude, gram e, aunt ann, ava, and bradie were all there. I loved the barber seat. And I really loved mirror! Check out my new do!

What a week...

This week I had a lot of fun. On Thursday, mommy blew up the bounce house in the living room. She had to move all the furniture out of the way and when she was pushing the couch, I got on the other end and starting pushing too; I was a big help! My friend, Alice came over and played with me. I wasn't too impressed with the bouncer at my party, but I discovered the slide this time and I loved going down head first.
On Saturday, mommy took me to the winter festival at her work. The line was too long to see Santa, but I did get to play in the snow and visit with Sparky the Fire Dog.


This week I have also switched to drinking all whole milk and I am only drinking from the bottle 3 times a day: when I wake up, when I go down for nap, and when I go to bed. Mommy is also going to start working with me on using a spoon. We tried tonight and I did pretty well. I used both hands pretty equally, so who knows which will be my dominate hand.



I have learned how to climb things by picking my leg up. I have also started throwing tantrums this week. I throw myself back and cry. Mommy hopes this is short lived.
I have also been very sweet. I give daddy kisses every time he comes downstairs and at night, I am actually letting mommy rock me. She is cherishing every minute too because I have not been a very cuddly baby.
It was a busy week and mommy even worked full time.

Who turned on the faucet?

I have been dealing with this runny nose for over 10 days now. I guess you could say this is my first sickness, but I haven't even run a temperature. I have been very lucky to not have any ear infections, colds, flu, etc; but for some reason I can't shake this little cold. I did have a cough as well, but that has faded. For the past 4 days or so, my nose has run and run. My skin between my nostrils is even broke down and I scream anytime somebody tries to wipe it. Today it did run a little less so maybe it will go away. I sure hope so at least....

Happy Birthday to ME

One year old, hard to believe. At my pedi appt, I weighed 20 pounds 4 ounces an was 29 1/2 inches long. This puts me around the 25%, which means I have made up some ground. I am eatng better with table food, but still not a huge eater. The only baby food I will eat is Pears and occasionally applesause. I will drink some from a sippy cup, but mommy is worried about trying to get me off the bottle. I am transitioning to whole milk pretty easy. Most nights I will sleep all the way through. I am walking better everyday and really don't crawl anymore. My personality is showing more and more. I love to clap my hands and to be the center of attention. I have also become quite the bookworm. I bring books to mommy and plop in her lap to listen to the story and turn the pages. I've added one word to my vocab, "bye". And one time mommy and daddy heard me say "parky" for my dog Sparky.
We celebrated my first birthday in Fort Worth. I had a good time and got lots of new toys and cute outfits. I had a dinosaur party. I was unsure about the cake at first, but then I dug in. I loved the balloons. Here are some pictures from my party..

My 1st Thanksgiving

I had a very busy trip to Fort Worth this time. We got in on Wednesday. We got up early on Thanksgiving morning to do the Turkey Trot. Many of my extended family members were there, so that was fun. It was a 5K, daddy ran with uncle Colton and Brandon and mommy stayed back with everyone else.





That afternoon we had a yummy Thanksgiving meal, then mommy went with Auntie Ann to do some Black Friday shopping. She went to Toys'r'Us at midnight and had to wait 1 1/2 hours just to get in the store, but she and Ann goit what they went for. On Friday, we had my birthday party. (Will post pics and talk about that in another blog.) On Saturday, I went to the TCU game with mommy and daddy. I had fun, but I was not too sure about Super Frog, but I really liked the showgirl!








Luckily, we get to go back in a few weeks for Christmas....

My friend's birthday party

On Saturday, we went to my friend, Guillermo, birthday party. Mommy works with his mommy. The party was at Kiddie Park. I had fun although most of the rides were a little too big for me. I went on the carousel and the UFO ride. I was unsure about the carousel at first, but I came around. It was a fun family day cause daddy came too. I can't wait for my big day!!

First Train Ride and San Antonio Zoo

Today I went to the San Antonio zoo with my friend, Alice. Mommy works with her mommy, Diane. We had so much fun. My favorite things were the petting zoo and the train ride. This was my first train ride and I loved it. I clapped my hands almost the whole 20 minute ride. I hope we get to go back soon!

Not all smiles...

Over the past few weeks, I have started to display my disgust/ frustration. I am still a happy boy, but mommy is having to learn how to deal with these "fits". I have always been stubborn when it comes to eating, but now it is showing when I either don't get my way or mommy isn't paying attention to me.

11 months

Today I turned 11 months old only 1 more month of being 0! Mommy and Daddy weighed me at 19 pounds 10 ounces and measured me at 29 inches. I still wake up one time during the night usually between 3-6 for a feeding. I have learned to do so much this past month! The most exciting being that I have taken my first steps. I can walk back in forth between mom and dad, but I still crawl as my means of getting around unless where I am going is a short distance, then I will walk. I can climb the stairs in no time flat, I can wave hi/bye, I can clap my hands, I can throw a ball, I can anticipate the touch and feel pages in my DOG book, I am understanding depth perception, I can say dada, mama, hi, da (for dog and duck). I love to make my "cheesier" face and to play tug-a-war with Burton. Here is a highlight video of the past month. Enjoy....

Calling Dr. Baby Dawson

Tonight i went with mommy and daddy to a chili cook-off at daddy's school. i was hoping not to get called in as i was the surgeon on call. i socialized with many of daddy's classmates, and i tried some chili. i was a very popular surgeon; everyone liked my OR attire. luckily, i did not get called in and got to enjoy the evening.
