The Lion sleeps tonight..

Well, don't get too excited, I didn't sleep all night, but I have been sleeping on my own. Mommy has been trying since I was 1 day old to put me in bed to sleep by myself, but I resisted until... this weekend. You see, mommy has tried everything to help me sleep and sleep by myself. Light on, light off, music, white noise, silence, swaddle blanket, sleep positioner, a lactose free formula at night (to help with gas and to fill me up), Mylicon (at night to help with gas), nightly baths with bedtime soap and lotion, different pacifers, sleeping in basinet, sleeping in bouncy chair, sleeping in my big crib, mommy sleeping in the nursery with me, crying it out (she only lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes)and the list goes on. So what has made the difference? Mommy thinks it is 2 things, 1. She has read a book on baby sleeping habits and has really got me down on a schedule, 2. tummy sleep. The tummy sleep mommy just started trying. I am coming out of the most at risk age and do not have any risk factors, so mommy tried it one day and I LOVED it. She wached me all week during my naps to make sure I would be ok. Mommy is a nurse and teaches all mommies to put their babies back to sleep, so she is still a bit nervous. How could she deny me of good sleep, and sleep I can do all by myself. I am going to bed at 8 and for the past 2 nights have woken up at 11, 1:45, 5, and then up around 8 for the day. Mommy is hoping that sleeping by myself will help me to start spacing out my sleep, but until them, mommy is free to stretch out!
